PowerComps multiples are sourced directly from the M&A advisors and private equity firms who worked the deals — private transaction terms you won't find in public filings. Every deal is reviewed before it is approved into the dataset.

Each industry shows TEV/EBITDA, TEV/Revenue and EBITDA margin, with the average, median and 67th percentile — broken out by transaction-size band, by quarter, and by six-digit NAICS sub-industry.

How are the deals grouped?

Deals are organized by NAICS industry and by total-enterprise-value size band, from under $5M up to $999M, so you can match the comp set to the size and sector of the company you are valuing rather than relying on a single blended multiple.

Is deal data kept confidential?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Contributed deals are aggregated into industry statistics — PowerComps publishes multiples and percentiles, not individual deal terms — and any band with fewer than three deals is suppressed and shown as 'n/p', so no single transaction can be identified.

How current is the data?

Medians are refreshed every quarter as newly approved deals come in, and the quarterly trend view shows how each multiple has moved over the last eight quarters.
